Eclipse Plugin Installation Fails

Hi,

I am trying to install the Connect IQ Plugin in Eclipse (Neon.3 Release 4.6.3)

However, it fails with the following error.

Unable to connect to repository https://developer.garmin.com/downloads/connect-iq/eclipse/content.xml

If I try to open that URL in a browser, I get this:

The requested URL /downloads/connect-iq/eclipse/content.xml was not found on this server.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Miki.
  • Galmiklos have you resolved this issue yet? Each time I try to install it I get an error stating I have the wrong version of java which isn't true. Did you have this issue also?

    Hey,

I wanted to chime in here. I just did a quick check on the latest SDK and Eclipse Neon.3 as well. Everything installed correctly without any errors.

erjones, were you using another version of Java and recently upgraded? I ask because I was when I first set up the SDK and found that I had a JAVA_HOME variable pointed to the out of date version. I was seeing similar errors to what you are describing. I'd check that out first and go from there. Let us know if you are still having issues.

    Thanks,

  • I'm using java 1.8.0_131 (i installed the java run time [jre] and development kit [jdk])
it's installed in the default location

have you installed the right bit version of java? there's a 32 bit version and a 64 bit version. install the latter if your os supports it - and uninstall the other one
  • I got it installed and got a simulation to work. When I tried select "start" from under the connection menu it told me I needed an Android device connected. I found that odd since I didn't see anything related to phone devices as part of the installation process.

  • What that's used for if you have a companion app for a phone you are also using in the test. What is it you want to do? If you are just wanting to do a makeWebrRequest, you can just do it.
