Settings deleted after update

Hi all,

I have a short question:
I recognized, that when my app is being updated, the settings which can be changed via GE or GCM were deleted or were set back to standard. Is there a way to keep the user settings, when I update an app?

Unfortunately the only way is to make a backup of everything under the DATA and SETTINGS folder of your device when you hook it up to a computer, and then copy it back after the update.
