Eclipse Neon.2 4.6.2 and ConnectIQ Simulator Failure - Malloc Failure and Timeout

Greetings,
I saw other posts with similar issues but the resolutions that I saw (related to CLI and Run Config) did not resolve the issue for me. I have tried using the Simple watchface from the app dev wizard and importing the Drawable sample and both resulted in the same issue. The Simulator is running and I see the menu selections above a blank grey window in the simulator. Eclipse provides console event log as illustrated below:

BUILD: Complete
Attempt 1 to connect to simulator...

Found Transport: tcp
Connecting...
Connecting to device...
Timeout waiting for device info
Malloc Failure for size 1919230496
Connection Finished
Closing shell and port
Found Transport: tcp

Timeout waiting for device info
Malloc Failure for size 1919230496

Closing shell and port

Advice?
  • I don't recall seeing anyone report something like this. Maybe a bit more about your environment? Window/mac (including version), sdk version, etc? Is this something new and worked before?

Same "maloc failure" issue for me

    Hi Chip.G

You found a solution meanwhile? I have the exact same problem

    Found Transport: tcp
    Connecting...
    Connecting to device...
    Timeout waiting for device info
    Malloc Failure for size 1919230496
    Connection Finished
    Closing shell and port

    Eclipse Neon.3
    Connect IQ SDK 2.2.5
Windows 10 64bit; creators update version

I can move the compiled prg to GARMIN/APPS on my device and it works. But simulator window keeps blank. I tried with cmd console to (connectiq;monkeydo) same result, with that "Malloc Failire for size" message.
So may you know now a solution and you can help me?

Maybe some 32/64 bit issues? I payed attention to have only 64b software (java jdk, eclipse) on my system but who knows...

    Edit 05-05-2017:

I done the same steps (same downloaded programms) with my HP Notebook (windows 10; not creators update)
    --> working fine

Then I installed the creators update
--> working still okay (just some frozen moments on eclipse, don't know why at this moment)

    regards
    Michael
