How to: Device-specific code

Hi all,

how to write device specific code?
E.g. I'd like to create a special menu that would appear on Fenix3, but not on any other watch, e.g. Fenix 5.
Is that possible? Or can I do that only indirectly via System.Stats fields?

Hi Jiri,

just create a folder, named like the destination device and duplicate all the needed files. Layout as well as code.
It is not explained within SDK (I didn´t found it there).
But you can see how it works in the Garmin examples. There are many folders, beginning with "resources". You can get the concept from there.

As said, if you use resource overrides (search for that in the Programmer's guide) you can do things like only having the menu for the f3, and in the same area, look at using "build file exclusions", and you can also change the code used for different devices, so for non-f3 devices, you wouldn't build with the menu or the code that uses it.
