Activity symbol on my day widget

I have a vivoactive hr and there is one problem with the new firmware that is showing all activities from the day on the my day widget since the new firmware while earlier showing only an summary of the activities grouped by activity type.
When I use the build in apps like running, cycling, walking there is a orange symbol in front of the activity time in the my day widget. Both in the view with the black and the white background.
But when I use an connect iq app there is no symbol on the view with the black background and a black symbol on the view with the white background.
So on the first view you can see the activity time but not the activity type, cause you did not see any symbol. The symbol normally is an symbol for the activity type, i.e. a walking man or a bike.
What is wrong here? I don't think I can have influence on the colour of the avtivity icon and I don't know why it is black on connect iq app and orange on buillt in app

    No one?
  • You'll see a difference if the SPORT_* in the CIQ app is known to the watch. For example, on the va-hr, if I record a Hike, the symbol I see is a circle with 3 dots, but with the same app, I can record a Walk, and then I see the "walker" icon, but not in the same color for the native walking app (the native walk icon uses it's Accent Color", and the CIQ Walk uses black.)

It doesn't have the icons for sports that aren't native ones, so you get a generic one.

    Thx.

That "black" is the problem. Can one change the color? Cause the my day widget background is black and i can't see the icon of the "walker" for example. Only if I touch the widget which causes the background to get white.
  • I was looking at the history so didn't notice the black background in the widget. Maybe it's that they need to use a different color for the icon for the CIQ activity. I guess the same thing would happen if Black was used for the accent color for a native app, but that's something the user can change. Maybe report/suggest this to the platform folks or do a "Bug report" here, as it is related to CIQ. (Coleman is a stickler that you follow the defined format! :) )

I thought in making this thread it is a kind of bug report. Is there another way to report this here as a bug? Cause black ciq activity icon on black background for me is a bug for sure.
  • Hey,

You'll want to post in the Bug Reports Forum following the Rules found in this thread.

    Thanks!

Thank you. Have created a thread "Color of icon of ciq activity on my day widget" there
  • I'd start with a thread in the Bug Reports forum and fit it into Coleman's format the best you can. If he wants you to use a different route, he'll let you know. That way other CIQ developers will also see it if they run into it too.
