Simulator and ANT USB stick

Hello,
according to some older posts, CIQ simulator should be able to work with USB ANT stick. Mine does not pick any device. Using Win 8.1 64bit. Might be the reason that I have USB1 stick and it needs USB2?
Not talking about USB versions, but stick versions.
Thanks for advice.
  • If no log is generated that indicates that the simulator was unable to connect to the usb stick upon simulator start-up. This may have been due to another program holding onto the stick during simulator start-up.
    Try this:
    1. Shut down the connect-iq simulator
    2. Shut down all other programs that use the ANT usb stick
    3. Wait 30s to ensure that all programs have fully released the usb sticks
    4. Start-up the connect iq simulator
    5. A DeviceX.txt log should have been generated in the bin/ folder of the sdk.
    6. If this log contains similar statements to the following then the simulator should have successfully connected to a usb:
    0.000 { 110875152} Tx - [A4][01][4A][00][EF][00][00]
    0.000 { 110875152} Rx - [A4][01][6F][20][EA]
    0.000 { 110875152} Tx - [A4][02][4D][00][54][BF][00][00]
    0.000 { 110875152} Rx - [A4][07][54][08][08][00][BA][36][00][DF][A4]
    0.000 { 110875152} Tx - [A4][01][4A][00][EF][00][00]
    0.000 { 110875152} Rx - [A4][01][6F][20][EA]
    0.624 { 110875776} Tx - [A4][01][4A][00][EF][00][00]
    0.624 { 110875776} Rx - [A4][01][6F][20][EA]
  • Still no luck. Thanks anyway. I'm ordering an ANT2 stick, I hope that will solve the problem.
  • ANT2 stick works fine. I've bought a Suunto brand, as it was cheaper, for the same piece of hardware as Garmin.
  • Thanks for the update! Glad to hear that the newer stick solves the issues.
