Upload widgets to 920xT

Hi,
I know, that right now it is not possible to upload widgets to the appstore. Is it possible to upload widgets, or even apps, to the USB-connected 920xT? I did so with datafields and watchfaces. I also build a widget for the connected 920xT. The build was successful, but I can't find the widget on my watch?
Thanks and best regards
  • If you are using the 3.03 firmware, you can sideload widgets and apps. You just need to be sure you build correctly for the device, and copy the .prg file to the Garmin/APPS folder on the device.

You can access widgets by pressing the up button while looking at the watch face and the apps show up under the IQ Apps activity profile (press menu and Enter to unlock the device, then press up or down until IQ Apps appears, then press Enter).
  • Thanks for your fast help!
I managed to run my apps on the 920xT but then I got caught by the next trouble: I interactively control my app by using the BACK- and the MENU-Button. This interaction works in the simulator, regarding the button-mapping explained here (https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?199009-Simulator-buttons).
But on the watch, pressing the buttons does not trigger the behaviour that I've implemented in my app. Instead the general behaviour of these buttons (e.g. go back after pressing the back button) is triggered. I already tried to keep the buttons pressed for a few seconds - it didn't help.
  • It is a known issue that the buttons other than the Enter key don't work for Apps and Widgets. You'll have to wait for the next updates.
