Is there a software that can be used diagnose Garmin watches?

These watches have an OS inside. There has to be a way to plug them in via USB and diagnose their status and/or OS without having to send them back to Garmin in case something is not working correctly.

For example, if the watch is stuck and the USB connection is non-responsive, a tool like this would come in handy. Is there anything available for such tasks?

There may be, but this is not something that I have seen and it is unlikely that Garmin would make such a tool available to the general public.

The manual for each device typically includes a troubleshooting section with instructions for forcing a device reset (reboot), clearing user data, and restoring the device to factory defaults. For example, here is a link to the troubleshooting section of the online manual for the fr735xt.

Typically these instructions will get a device back to working order.
