datafield and app share settings / properties?

Can I have an app which allows user to adjust settings or properties, then when have a companion datafield which accesses those settings during activity?

There is no way to share data between applications at this time.

I don't see any way to communicate data to a data field, but it seems that the intent system could work to shuttle settings between application and widget or vice-versa.

Oops, I forgot Intents had released... They can be used to pass an argument from an app or widget to another app or widget.

This requires the user to accept the application transfer via intent, and is not available for Watchfaces or Data Fields.
