Day_of_week.SHORT showing 3 letter but 4 for Thursday?

When using Day_of_week.SHORT, it shows three letters for mom, tue, but when it gets to Thursday it shows Thur instead. The space I'm trying to put this won't look correct if 4 letters are displayed. Is there another way that display the day?

The 3/4 letter thing has been around for a very long time. (FOMART_SHORT is always a number. FORMAT_MEDIUM returns things like dow as a string)

If you always want three character, use something like

dow.substring(0,3);
