backlight on amoled devices

I have noticed amoled devices (at least fenix 8) turn off backlight of the screen after around 10seconds.

as my app intended for windsurfing user cannot make a gesture to look at the numbers.

documentation warns not to keep backlight on for long time, wich makes the screen almost unreadable in the sun.

So is there any solution to this or user must change to mips screen ?

I've always found that in strong sunlight, MIP displays are easier to see than AMOLED, but in weaker light AMOLED are easier.

The backlight can drain battery so keeping it on longer/more often could impact that

There is no backlight in AMOLED screens. They don’t need one.

I suppose you mean the screen goes dark. That’s actually the whole screen being turned off.

Users can enable “always on” for the display. (They can also change the brightness.)
