Connect Developer Program (Activity API) access — no response, is the program still paused?

Hi all — apologies if this isn't the ideal board; there doesn't seem to be a dedicated forum for the Connect Developer Program (Activity/Health API), so I'm posting here where staff are active.

We submitted an Activity API access request via the developer contact form a few weeks ago and haven't received any response. I understand new access requests may currently be paused while the program is being updated.

Context: our app FLG Fit (health & fitness) is already live on the App Store and Google Play. With each user's explicit OAuth consent we'd like to import their completed Garmin activities (running, cycling, swimming, etc.) into their FLG Fit profile. Our backend already handles OAuth token exchange and Ping/Push webhooks, so we can integrate quickly once granted.

Could anyone advise:

1) Is the Connect Developer Program still paused, and is there an expected reopening date?

2) Is there a waitlist we can join to be notified when access requests reopen?

3) Any interim path for a production app in the meantime?

Access to this has always been very limited over the last decade or so. Basically, restricted to Garmin partners. At one time there was a fee ($1000 or so US) that would be reduced if the app would increase Garmin device sales.
