Can the nRF 52840-DK be used for ble testing?

Hi everyone,

I already own the nRF 52840-DK and I have been debugging the whole day to try and make it work but no results.

Has anyone made it work with the nRF 52840-DK dev board or do we need the nRF52 DK or nRF 52840 dongle?

What hex file did you flash it with?

If it was me, I'd just spend a few bucks for the dongle instead to spending a bunch of time trying to get your board to work.

Devices are updated in my case (shouldn't be the reason) and I'm working on mac, so no windows drivers can solve it

I will try using the nRF-52DK now instead of the dongle, but I guess it will not change anything

I get the "already paired erro with a thingy52, am unable to connect with an esp32 based sensor, but things look fine with pi based sensors

I hope it is fixed soon. I am using beta apps to validate directly using physical devices, but it's long and limited to only few devices

have you tried using the 9.1 SDK and the older hex files?

I just started working with the 52840 dongle - SDK 9.2 will scan and pair (with ESP32) but then the app is broken - things like popView stop working. Downgraded to SDK 9.1 and it's mostly working although connection/reconnection is flaky and I sometimes receive 'Operation already in Progress' exception even thought I am using WRITE_TYPE_DEFAULT (no response).

I have not had any issues on my FR265.

Yes, but in this case I get the following error. It seems that after updating devices, you can no longer use SDK versions earlier than 9.2

The currently running app requires a newer SDK to run. Please select a newer SDK in the Connect IQ SDK Manager.

It seems to depend on the target devices. I've been using the fr 165.170,and 570 and switching between 9.1 and 9.2 with win11.

I am also on Mac and it works for me, I need to select the port every time I start the sim but it’s working on 9.2 for me
