In regards to the issues you are seeing in the App Settings Editor, that has been addressed, but there is a problem that can happen when Eclipse runs an update. It only updates certain files and there are often times stray config files that will cause issues. I was experiencing the same thing you are today when I downloaded the plugin and SDK from our public servers (and I was the one who verified it on this same machine!) I ended up having to go through and clear out my Eclipse config files. For me, it was because some of my workspaces were tied to repos. I had to just get rid of the work spaces all together and move everything back in. Now it's working perfectly for me. I hope this helps.
