Listen for new messages in the background?

Hi all,

I would like to know if it is possible for the companion app on an Android phone to listen to new message when it arrives without running the app first? The comm example seems to only work when the app is opened on the phone.

Basically we have found a hacky way of doing this via NotificationListenerService.
I'm just going to write a feature request to Coleman since this is a huge missing piece of the CIQ puzzle....
