Cannot access Developer Program application form — "Under Construction"

Hi,

I've been trying to apply to the Garmin Connect Developer Program
for over a week, but the application form at
garmin.com/en-US/forms/GarminConnectDeveloperAccess shows
"Under Construction."

I also emailed [email protected] on April 10
but was redirected to general product support.

I'm building a triathlon training analytics platform (Motus,
https://getmotus.fit) and need the Activity API + Training API.
We currently integrate with Strava and want to add Garmin
as a data source.

Could someone from the Developer Program team point me to the
correct way to apply while the form is down?

  • Access to things like the connect SDK has always been quite limited.  Seems only Garmin partners and well-known brands.  It could be Garmin was getting too many requests from others.

  • Im doing something similar and I cannot manage to get the API key. I wonder if there is another way?

  • I am using garmin devices since decade , now as cyclist i d like to build my own  training analytics platform .... with Health API / Activity API and Training API .... but seems that my data finally does not belong to me as Garmin keep all my data and moreover i spent as like everyone here a lot $$$$ to get latest connected devices to track myhealth and actvities .... WHAT FOR if i can not use them and build my own analytics system .

    yeah I've had the same issue (still nothing after weeks), you should reach out to the Terra API team, they offer integration w Garmin and a bunch of other wearables

    yeah maybe its a decision, but they are quite expensive. btw its sad that Garmin is not supporting developers

  • I am also looking to integrate Garmin into my app. Currently, users can import their activities through the Health app, but because some don't use Apple Health or Health Connect, the only direct solution is to register as a Garmin Developer.

    Below is the official response I received from Garmin. Hopefully, they will complete their migration soon so we can integrate Garmin products directly into our apps:

    Thank you for reaching out and for your interest in the Garmin Connect Developer Program.
    The application form for new API access requests is currently unavailable while we complete updates to the Garmin Connect Developer Program.
     
    During this transition, new access requests are temporarily paused.
     
    Once the updated developer program and application process are finalized,
    the access request form will be made available again on our developer website.
     
    We appreciate your interest in working with Garmin, and thank you for your patience while these updates are completed.
