Can a data field background temporal event keep getting called after the activity is stopped?

I have a data field which uses a background temporal event. I am suspecting that the temporal event is not automatically shut down when the activity is ended, and that the temporal event keeps getting called. Can this happen?

I've seen this happen. I believe you should have this in your App class:

function onStop(state as Lang.Dictionary or Null) { Background.deleteTemporalEvent(); }

Yes that's the case. Until you do a deleteTemporalEvent, the background will run
