Yeah, for beta Connect IQ apps, the old ways like Garmin Express are gone. Upload to your developer dashboard, then use the download button there to select your device. It installs on next sync via the Connect IQ mobile app. Sideloading works too but limits phone settings changes.

That will only work if you are on the Chinese CIQ store site (apps.garmin.cn). For apps.garmin.com, the download button is gone. The two sites are *not* interchangeable (a user ID that works on apps.garmin.com won't work on apps.garmin.cn).
The answer for everyone outside of China is:
TL;DR get the app link from the old dev dashboard (https://apps.garmin.com/developer/dashboard), open the app link on your phone and it will open the corresponding page in the CIQ store, where you can install the app as usual
--
Details:
- open the dev dashboard in a browser (like you said) - https://apps.garmin.com/developer/dashboard
(currently you have to use this "old" url for the dashboard, and not the new url that the CIQ team recommends)
(if you can, open the dashboard in your phone's browser)
- navigate to the beta app
- copy the app url to your phone somehow (e.g. send an email or message to yourself, or maybe you originally opened the dashboard in your phone's browser so you can skip this step)
- open the app in your phone's browser (or other native app). You will either automatically be redirected to the Connect IQ store app, or you will be given a button to do the same
- install the app from the Connect IQ store app
HI I've been to the app link you give and it shows my Beta app. However I cannot find any way to download the app - is this because it's still showing as 'pending/ ........sorry to ask YOU but you seem knowledgeable and I'm REALLY new to this lol .
You need to click on the link from a phone that has the Connect IQ phone app installed. Then in the app you can click on the Install button. If the app is beta, then it'll forever stay in pending state, but that's fine, as long as you are logged in to the Connect IQ app with the same use you used to upload the app to the store.
I think nowadays you might be even able to install your own non beta apps while it's pending.
One option is to publish a second, regular app in the app store with “Beta” in the name. This would make it visible to other users as well, which I actually see as an advantage: you can invite users to test fixes for bugs they’ve reported, and more generally involve a wider audience in beta testing. I’ve done this with my own apps, including using a clearly visible red BETA label in the app icon, and it has worked well so far. However, in my case I am in touch with at least part of my user community via a forum and Github, and I guess without that it would make less sense.
