Edge devices: Logging Raw GNSS (GPS) and barometric data

Hi,

Before setting up the software development and simulation environment I would like to know if it is possible to get access to GNSS elevation data and/or barometric elevation data for edge 830/840/850 and 1030/1040/1050.

I would like to compare the two raw data since edge devices only calibrate barometric hight once at the start of a recording.

You have access to elevation data during an activity (Activity.Info).
But barometric elevation (the usual source for Edge devices) is based on the calibration before starting the activity.

var altitude as Lang.Float or Null

The altitude above mean sea level in meters (m).

Elevation is derived from the most accurate source: Barometer or GPS

If you want to log the GNSS data that is possible, and if it's about altitude, then my guess is that the "regular" altitude you'll get is from the barometer, so you'll be able to log both probably.

Position.enableLocationEvents(GNSS.options, :onPosition);

function onPosition(info as Position.Info) as Void {
  // use what's in info.altitude (I think it can be null)
}

Igues 'altitude" returns the baromtric elevation after calibration at beginning and is equivalent of what is available through the .fit file, correct?

Last question:

Where is the best place to read about functions like "position" or "altitude", retuning raw or corrected values like above?
