Notification count wrong

Hi,

when I useSys.getDeviceSettings().notificationCount the result doesn't match the result of the widgets. It seems to work for 5 or more notifications, but when I clear them - the api always returns 5 even when the notification widgets says 0.

=> Running on Tactix 8.

How is this supposed to happen?

You mean that on a real device the app shows a number of unread notifications, but the widget say there are none.

I run into this „problem“ with my iPhone and Edge device. It turned out, that IQ notificationCount counts all messages on the lock screen of my iPhone - not only Whatsapp, email or other social media but messages from my bank, messages from Garmin Connect etc… (messages from iPhone apps).

You must clear all kind of messages on your phone.
On iPhone: swipe down to see messages, delete, then swipe up for elder messages.

sure - i did that also. but sill get wrong number from api (other 3rd-party faces face the same issue)

no matter wtheather clear the messahe on iPhone or the watch. I always get at leat 5 as value. Even when I have lets say 18 notifications, the api says 17... this is wired

Ok… I cannot confirm. My datafields - where I use notificationCount - show valid values on Edge device. Maybe it’s a Tactix 8 issue…

5 is the smallest number Garmin know. That's why you can't get under 5 in body battery as well :)

Apparently, it's different with Edge devices... or datafields…

I found that if you have grouped notifications and you swipe away one of them on your garmin device the notification center shows 0 notifications while there are still notifications left on your phone. Let's say you have 6 notifications from WhatskuchApp, you swipe away one on your Garmin, your phone still shows 5 and that's then number communicated through the api, the notifications center on your Garmin however shows 0. So the bug is in the notifications center not showing the notifications.
