app store information

hi,
i have a couple of questions regarding the info shown in app store. sorry if this has been asked before.
1) is the information since about one week being updated just once a day (i had the feeling, that it used to be udpated almost real time. but this is not the case anymore - at least for my app)?

2) the number of downloads is equivalent to the number of watches were the app is installed(1 watch - 1 vote, even if the app received several updates and it had to be updated several times by the watch's owner)? or, everytime somebody updates the app, counts as an additional download?
  • hi,
doesnt anybody have an anwer to these questions?
  • Hey,

I sorry about the delay on this. I've been trying to find the right info for you on this, but I have had to reach out to another team. I'm hoping to find out something more exact within about a week and will let you know.

    Thanks,

    Hi Danielp27,

    1. I believe info are not in real time anymore.
    2. I think we see unique downloads, user upgrades don't increase the counter

Hope to see soon more advanced KPI!
  • The download numbers that everyone can see do seem like they might be a bit delayed - maybe a few times a day (and I think are for new downloads only, but not sure), but as the developer if you look at the 10 day stats, they'll go up close to real time, and I think that includes new downloads and updates. The 10 day graph does reset when you upload a new version, but I think it may be those numbers there that are used for "most popular" (how many total downloads/updates over the last X days). So if your app is ranked high in "most popular", when up upload a new version, your app will drop in "most popular", but quickly come back as current users get the update.
  • Hey Everyone,

I have the official word from our app store team.

-Download Statistics are updated once a day. This was changed some weeks ago as the more or less live-update we had in place was putting too much load on the database.
-Download count is unique per user this means:
    - App updates are not increasing the download count
    - If the same user installs an app on multiple devices, we only count one download

    Thanks for waiting!
