models that support multiple connect IQ app simultaneously

would someone from the developer team Please let me know what watches support four connect IQ data fields simultaneously during an activity. It's very hard to find reliable information and I'm also trying to figure out which watch already has all of the data fields programmed that I'm looking for so comprehensive list would be very appreciated.

Garmin should supply this information with every watch on their website, I have been trying a couple of hours now to find information and there is simply nothing out there. It's only in forums and maybe some reviews but nothing official.

I would be very happy about an answer

Thank you

  • Thank you for the answer,

but this is not the answer I was looking for.

It only shows the number of possible data fields.

Nothing about limitations of connect iq datafields, which is mostly

2 datafields and some model supposed to be 4.

  • Key Findings
Most Garmin watches are limited to 2 simultaneous Connect IQ data fields, with only the
newest models supporting 4. This limitation has been a long-standing constraint that has
frustrated users for years, as noted in multiple forum discussions.

Models Supporting 4 Simultaneous Data Fields
The breakthrough came with Garmin's latest generation of watches in 2024
    5 6 7
Fenix 8 Series 43mm, 47mm, 51mm): 4 simultaneous data fields with 128 KB memory per
    field
Fenix E: 4 simultaneous data fields with 128 KB memory per field
    6
Enduro 3: 4 simultaneous data fields with 128 KB memory per field
    8 6
These models also support up to 8 data fields per page maximum, representing a significant
    improvement over previous generations.

  • Thank you for the answer that is exactly what I was asking about. What about Forerunner 570 and 970 are those also able to have 4 CIQ fields at the same time?

  • Models Supporting 4 Simultaneous Data Fields
The breakthrough in Connect IQ limitations now extends to 8 watch models:

    2024-2025 Next-Generation Models
Fenix 8 Series (43mm, 47mm, 51mm): 4 simultaneous data fields with 128 KB memory per field

Fenix E: 4 simultaneous data fields with 128 KB memory per field

Enduro 3: 4 simultaneous data fields with 128 KB memory per field

    New 2025 Forerunner Models
Forerunner 570 (42mm): 4 simultaneous data fields, AMOLED display, aluminum bezel, 10-day battery life, priced at $549

Forerunner 570 (47mm): 4 simultaneous data fields, AMOLED display, aluminum bezel, 20-day battery life, priced at $549

Forerunner 970: 4 simultaneous data fields, premium materials with titanium bezel and sapphire glass, ECG functionality, LED flashlight, 15-day battery life, priced at $749

These models also support up to 8 data fields per page maximum, representing a significant improvement over previous generations.

  • Bro why are you coming in here and copy-pasting a wall of text from chatgpt as if it's authoritative?

My FR955, which was released in 2022 and is either 1 or 2 generations old depending on whether you count FR965 as a whole new generation or just "FR955 + AMOLED", supports a maximum of 8 data fields per page. Since the text you copied implies that older watches do not support 8 fields, how can we trust anything else it says?

It might be right on the point of 4 CIQ fields, but it's also demonstrably at least partially wrong on other points.

BTW, even though DCR claimed that both Venu 4 and FR570 support CIQ 4 fields [I quoted him on the FR570 support in the past], a user says otherwise. So even human sources have to be taken with a grain of salt.

Too bad chatgpt has 0 critical thinking skills (or any ability to think at all) and isn't able tell you any of this. It also consistently refuses to express the slightest bit of uncertainty (by design, because its creators know it's better for them if chatbots sound like they know what they're talking about). Nope, it always gives you a very confident, authoritative-sounding answer, so you can mindlessly paste it into a post.

  • thank you for the reply,

Now I'm really confused so the 570 and 970 do not support for connect IQ Data fields?

Is there somebody here who actually gotta watch that dust really support for fields?

Is there somebody here who actually gotta watch that dust really support for fields?

It's kind of frustrating. This is very conflicting information.

Please somebody you got experience and really can use for fields. Let me know

  • I don't know about 970, but at least one person said 570 does not have support for 4 CIQ data fields. ekutter is on these forums too, so maybe you can ask them.

I think it's been commonly discussed that Fenix 8 support 4 fields, and I wouldn't surprised if Enduro 3 also does.

I don't know about Fenix E. It's supposed to be older hardware with newer software, so I guess it could go either way.

  • All Fenix 8 devices (including the Fenix E) support 4 CIQ DF's as does the FR970.

FR570 and Venu 4 only support 2 CIQ DF's - despite Ray's claim to the contrary.

All older watches only support 2 CIQ DF's (except the original Epix from a decade ago that supported 3)

I have no clue on Instinct, but suspect it's only 2 across the board.

Most Edge devices support 10 CIQ fields.

While this is the total number of unique CIQ data fields these devices support, on many of these devices you can place multiple instances of the same field on different pages.  I take advantage of this with my CIQ dog tracker fields.  If it's a full screen field, it shows a full bread crumb map of the dogs.  If it's a smaller field, it just shows the dog distance and direction.  Only one field can have an open Ant+ channel to a particular device, but by having multiple display instances of the same field, there is only one actual loaded field so they both get access to the Ant+ data.

So if you place the same field on two different data pages, that only counts as one field.

  • And Enduro 3 is just a Fenix 8 so that gets 4 fields as well.
