Tutorials: Create a Connect IQ datafield

I made two tutorials on my website to explain how to create a connect IQ datafield in the hope to attract more people to start creating Garmin connect iq apps.

Which layout system do you use to create your connect iq apps?

I use direct draw as layouts.xml uses too much memory (or did the last few times I tried).

I too use direct dc.draw but I mostly only target my 630 or my wife's VAHR. I've created various helper functions to deal with layout and mixing fonts on single lines.

I too tend to use dc calls in DF's, and it's not that hard to adapt to different number of DF's on a screen or for different devices. in onLayout(), using the width/height, etc, set up a few things for drawing the data and have onUpdate() use those things to position items on the display, or even to display a message like "You need to set a 1 or 2 field layout for this". With the 16k limit on 1.x devices for DF's, you'll likely save a bit with dc calls vs layouts.
