Limited Datafield screen layouts for new Edge 550/850

Why are two new Edge devices restricting the screen layouts for datafields?

There isn't even a full screen (1 Field) option as there has been on every Edge device up until now

    Update of SDK and Edge 850 config ... but no change related to datafields .. 2b honest again, can imagine that Garmin is testing developer reaction ... and because of low noise the are on a good way.

    What’s concerning to me is that nobody from garmin has bothered to even respond.  I see there is a workaround and apparently the devices do support more layouts, so a simple “we are working on the fix to the config” would take someone 30 seconds to post

    Bro are you even reading any of the comments that say stuff like:

    - According to a photo in a DCR review, the real Edge 850 seems to have a 7-field layout (which is not in simulator.json or the device reference)

    - According to a user review, the real edge850 seems to have a 1-field layout (which is not in simulator.json or the device reference.)

    Simplest explanation is that simulator.json and the device reference are wrong, not that there's some conspiracy to take away data field layouts from developers.

    Besides, wouldn't Garmin also need to consider how users would react?

    I agree, but they rarely post that kind of update for either device or CIQ bugs, unless it's some super-critical, 5 alarm fire issues that affects lots of people. I guess they don't think this is a huge problem.

    since we are still waiting on garmin to fix the simulator.json file, does anybody have a  complete list of what layouts are available on the physical 850?  i was going to hack together a more complete simulator.json but i'd just be guessing at this point.   short of going out and buying my own 850 which i'd rather not do

    Still broken in the Simulator. The resolution of these new devices are much better.
