Radar Record Detect

I detect the presence of a radar and skew the UI to make room for the system icon in the upper right. But my new Garmin radar adds a "REC" logo when cars are present. I don't think it is worth the effort, but on the road, the REC seems to persist for over a minute after a car passes, and on many roads that means this is pretty much on all the time. So it might be nice to detect and account for it. I don't think there is a bit in the ANT packet to tell (I haven't looked yet). But I do know when cars are detects, and maybe it is as easy as knowing the REC will display for X seconds after the last car is past? Anyone figure this out yet?

I have no radar with a video recording function - but as far I read in forums, the „REC“ shows up additionally when the camera is recording. You probably cannot influence this behaviour.

Yes - what I'm wondering is how I can detect when that extra REC content is displayed. I can probably guess by detecting active cars and testing how long that stays visible after the last car passes.

Ahhh - I understand. You then could make more room for it. But then you have to ask in settings if the video function is present and activated. If not, the user might be surprised why the figures are flipping around when using „normal“ radars.

But I understand your problem…

Edit: I just looked up the ANT device profile for radar and I did not find any page transmitting a video status.

The little arcs are the same for all radars. I adjust for that. For camera based radars, the "REC" is transient. From when a car is detects until about 70 secs after it has passed it seems. But on a busy road, it is effectively almost always there. I'll try to figure out a good approach and post here once I do.
