extendedCode in DF crashes device

Device in question is edge 540 solar, latest beta firmware and few older betas, and also last stable version (I switched to beta thinking maybe this will work in new firmware).
I have datafield with "out of memory error" in simulator and device so I implemented (:extendedCode) annotation to a few places. In simulator runs fine but when uploaded to the store as beta and added to device  as soon as I try to add datafield to activity it blocks/halts entire device to the point of unresponsibility. It hangs there for 15 seconds or so, says "collecting diagnostics" and reboots.
On feinix 7 it works fine with same extendedcode annotations but that device has more memory so extendedcode isn't even necessary.

What happens with edge though? I've never had some datafield completely crash device.

Has anyone tried extendedcode with edge devices?

  • Maybe you can release the DataField, with clear warnings in the description (or maybe even that is not necessary, 'cause Garmin probably can test even if you upload it as beta app) and then open a bug report, including the link to the app, so Garmin can reproduce it.

  • Hi, thanks for responding. You meant bug report for ciq sdk or for device beta? Where is the most likely I'll get any kind of support from garmin and soon?

  • To me it sounds like it's a bug in the device firmware, but it's not likely that you'll get any meaningful response there, as the teams don't know much about CIQ, so probably here, in the CIQ bug reports. After all it looks like this is a bug in this new feature.
