Simulator missing layouts for Edge 1040

In the simulator for the Edge 1040 there are no 3-C, 4-C, 5-C, 6-C, 7-C, 8-A, 8-B, 8-C, 9-A, 9-B, 9-C layouts which exist on an actual 1040. How often are these simulator layouts updated? I have updated the SDK and devices in the last few days. The 1050 doesn't have these layouts so I presume that is out of date too, though I don't have that device. Is this a common problem with the simulator?

It‘s the same with Edge 1050.

But - imho - it is not necessary to have it on the simulator, because 3C is the same as 3B - but upside down.

If you think that the field heights may differ by one or two pixels (according to your other posting) - that might be. You can easily check by sideloading a small prg which displays the fieldheight.

Similar problems were reported in the bugs forum in the past, and some were fixed relatively soon by Garmin. The fix is usually easy, they just need to edit the simulator.json file and release it. When this happens you'll see that there's an update to the device in the SDK manager.

Thanks. I started using 6-C since it's the same as 6-B but with different ordering and the same two unique fields. That app would've been useful but I'd already written one to get the field sizes. Maybe all the layouts that are missing are just reorderings?

The 1040 has been out for quite a while, so would've thought it might've been fixed by now. I guess I could just edit the simulator.json myself.

they can only fix what they know about. That's why I think it's worth to report it.

I would say - they don‘t care.

When the Edge 1050 came out it turned out that there is a datafield layout missing: ClimbPro.

Normally, the minimum height of the data fields on Edge devices is 1/5 of the screen height. However, the newly introduced layout for ClimbPro on 1050 has a lower height. There is no layout on the simulator that takes the ClimbPro data field into account. I have opened a ticket, but they don‘t care.
