Send an SMS message via Connect Mobile app

Does the Connect IQ SDK enable the ability for me to send a text message from my device as long as the BT connection with the app exists?

I'm wanting to send some pre-configured SMS/text messages to pre-configured users so I can just tap on my Edge 1000 and as long as connected with Connect Mobile, it will send the message.

Help?

In order to achieve this you will likely need to create a partner app for your mobile device using one of the available mobile SDKs here. Full disclosure, there are some issues that do not allow the iOS SDK and Edge devices to work together at the moment, but it is currently being addressed. There is not an API in the ConnectIQ SDK that let's you control these functions directly with your mobile devices native messaging apps. The SMS (Android) app is a great example of this setup.

You can do this with a web service. The Maker app uses IFTTT and you can send pre-canned messages with it.
