Venu - side loaded .PRG is not working

I am side loading my Watch App .prg using OpenMTP on Mac into the /GARMIN/APPS folder....then when I disconnect the power cable it shows the Verifying Connect IQ loading spinner...promising, but the App doesn't appear in the apps list. The .prg file is removed from the /APPS folder however

Anyone know why this doesn't work on the Venu watch? I can install Apps ok from the Connect IQ store but I'm not ready to publish it yet, side loading works ok for me on my FR255M

Brandon mentioned beta firmware, but I wouldn't be surprised that it may be rolling out to production FW any day now.

Do you see an error in the CIQ_LOG file? What SDK are you using to build the sideload?

are you sure you copied the prg built for the venu? I think I saw this happening in the past when I accidentally used the wrong prd file or buit it for another device.

Yes I have built the .PRG for the Venu and it works ok on the simulator

I have my SDK Manager set to SDK 6.2.0 and manifest has minSdkVersion="3.0.0"

Ah yes just checked the CIQ_LOG.YML and it has...

Looks like the issue you mentioned above

You need to use the 7.4.3 SDK or greater per Bandon's post. Sound like the device has the "Q2" firmware (Q2="Second quarter" update)

Brandon.ConnectIQ maybe we could have a pinned post with some knowledge for new members with some links, tips, etc. One of the 1st things I'd add is to always use the latest SDK version (maybe the one before if there's a knows issue with the latest) before you ask about something in the forum...
