How to get altitide data from in activity file to be usefull in the CIQ simulator?

I try to create an app and for this I need to read altitude data from one of the sensors.
Whe displaying the values in my app on the watch, the values make perfect sense. When I download the file for my activity and try to use it in CIQ simulator the values absolutely make no sense. The values vary from 2000 to 40000. Can one of you please describe how to use the simulator with values from an activity? Thanks in advance.

sounds like it might be storing the ambient pressure values, and you'd need to set the current sea level value in the simulator?

It is not possible to use 8.1.1
I get the error "not supported devices are defined"

…but backup the device folder of 7.4.3 - so you can easily switch back to 7.4.3 if necessary…

Yeah I noticed that too. We could probably recreate OP's scenario by first simulating data, pressing stop, loading a FIT file, then playing it back.

This might also suggest OP could avoid this problem by closing the simulator, re-opening it (by running the app) and making sure no data is simulated before the FIT file is loaded and played back.

Unless something else is going on here.

Sounds interesting - but I have not found any setting for pressure in the simulator's settings...

What I did now - and it works - I rised the altitude values in the fit file (which start by 0.00) to ( real altitude + 18m ).

I've done this using fitfile repair tool.

I updated the watch for Fenix in the SDK manager, still the same error. I then downloaded the new Vivo Active 6 and can run my app with API level 5.1.1 but not for the intended Fenix. Where are the files for the devices stored?

It depends on the OS, but probably doesn't matter. You can delete devices in the SDK manager and redownload the latest version

I removed verything, all SDK versions from the past, SDK Manager, Devices and the VSCode Extension and installed everything new. Same problem. Values in the CIQ Simulator are rubbish when I load them from a file downloaded from Garmin Connect. They are totally fine during my activity on the watch end even in Monkey Graph when I use the same file as I want to use in the Simulator.
