Just curious. I rode with my new custom data field yesterday. It worked great! Thanks for the tips here. It changes the field's background based on power level thresholds over a 45 sec rolling avg, and in the label field includes instant power levels and the percent time not moving.
But the battery drained to 28% in about 6 hours! So I charged it back to 100% with an external power source, and then it drained to 82% in a little over 1.5 hours. Meaning I would only get about 9-10 hours out of it.
The backlight is off. I generally get 15+ hours on a full charge.
Does the use of a color data field, or just the extra computation for the custom metrics, cause a much faster battery drain?
