why is menu title not render properly on FR935?

With ERA, there is an easy to understand stack trace,  Or the user can send you the ciq_log files from apps/logs on the watch

This bug was reported almost 5 years ago. Maybe it was never fixed :/. I'm pretty sure I saw this problem in a CIQ app on a real FR935 as well.

My guess is the two things are unrelated

So according to the tradition there are a few options:

- you can comment in that bug report

- since it's an old ticket but still isn't resolved you can open a new one

- since it's an old device we all know it'll never be fixed any more as fenix5 is so old Garmin even removed it from the forum.

I think it might have something to do with multiple language support. I never saw this problem for my own apps which only supported English.

i'm still not sure if they are unrelated. because the init code is very basic. it read the value from the menu. no reason to make the app fail. but i will try to get more debug info.

frustrating that it works on the emulator and not in real device ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i'm only supporting english as well.

In this case all the texts are hard-coded, so it can't even be explained by some bug in the translations or how the resourceIds are resolved. It's just a bug in the FW that in the menu title it displays the current language instead of whatever it should be

Hmm, then it could be due to creating a menu from a resource definition. Try creating a Menu2 programmatically instead. (My apps - which did not have this problem on FR935 - used a programmatically-created Menu2.)

(It seems unlikely that this will fix the problem, given that the resource compiler should be creating code that's similar to what you would write to create a Menu2 programmatically , but I'm trying to figure out why I never saw this problem)
