Forerunner 165 CIQ Apps crash since Firmware update 22.22

We're looking into this and will be working on a fix. In the meantime, using has checks will prevent the crash. I can confirm this is only affecting the fr165 and fr165m.

Please fix this as soon as possible. Those of us who sell apps are now facing a lot of criticism and getting negative reviews. I have to answer a lot of emails every day and customers are not very understanding. I would expect that new FW versions are tested for similar situations before being released to the public

It's not vector fonts. They still work. It's just some of the functions like radial text. 

This will also require the compiler option to make it a run time check, not a compiler check. 

I always use runtime has checks, and by adding an extra has check, I don't try to use drawRadialText and no crash!

That doesn't work if your app is dependent on radial text and it Garmin accidentally removes it !  Suggesting using "has" is a non sequitur for this situation.

It depends on the app.  It worked fine for me.  A friend has a 165 and was able to verify it

I'd remove support for the 165/165m from your app for now.  It doesn't help existing users, but prevents new users from seeing it and complaining. 

the 165 group could pull 22.22, but that too really won't help existing users.  Maybe they could release a renamed earlier version, but even that takes some time, and reality is it's now the weekend so that's another delay.

If I had an app that was dependent on this, I'd probably use the has checks, and instead of crashing, display a message that there is currently an issue with this device and Garmin is working on a fix.  It would probably cut down on user complaints
