I have a set of datafields that use app settings to store values for various purposes. One of these purposes is to write a code to facilitate my unlock process.
This works (and has worked for years) for any Garmin device with Garmin Connect and Garmin Connect IQ apps. When the datafield displays on the device, it detects an empty value, calculates the correct value, then writes it into settings. When the device is synched, that value is then visible in the settings dialogue for users to access.
However...
I have had an email from a user with an Edge 1040 that he is managing using Garmin Express. The field displays and functions correctly, but when he syncs, the settings are not copied across from the device to Garmin Express and the value I have set remains blank.
Does anyone have any insight as to what might be happening? As I say, this has been working for several years and this is the first time I've had an issue like this to deal with.
