App fails to connect to GPS

I’m not but it’s a well-known problem that, as you said, everyone is talking about. Are you doubting that a problem that’s widely reported by journalists and on social media, and confirmed by Garmin via multiple channels, actually exists?

Or are you looking for confirmation that this exact problem is affecting your app? Obviously we have no way of confirming or denying that for you.

If it helps:

- Garmin posted a banner confirming the issue on every affected device’s forum

- Garmin posted a banner in the Connect app and website confirming the issue

- They have now changed the banner to say that the problem is resolved

Not at all, It's just that I have only just become aware of it. 

Your link may be relevant, but the title "My Garmin Device Will Not Boot Past the Start Up Screen" doesn't appear to apply to my user.

His device boots fine and runs normally. It's just when he runs my app, which is 100%dependent on a good GPS signal, it hangs waiting for a a GPS signal.

On my advice, he has followed the procedure in the Garmin link :

"Press and hold the power/light button on the device until the watch shuts off. This can take up to 15 seconds.

Press the power/light button to turn the device back on."

And it doesn't fix the problem.

You’re the one who posted this topic and linked to a video entitled “Garmin Watches Crash Globally?!? Explained & Fixes!” As you know, that video (and all the other articles and social media talk) is referring to a problem where Garmin watches crash and return to the watchface, or get stuck in an endless boot loop.

That’s the problem everyone (including you) is talking about and that’s the problem I am referring to.

As you said, that doesn’t sound like what your user is experiencing. But you’re the one who brought it up.

So I don’t really understand the logic here. Either you think the problem is related to your user’s app woes or you don’t. It shouldn’t be an issue for me to give you more information about the very problem that you brought up.

Again, is it possible that maybe your user is experiencing a milder variant of this problem? I have no idea.

Nor have I. I have only had one user reporting the issue.

Until today, I wasn't aware that many other ppl were experiencing an issue.

Update: my F8 user has followed the Garmin procedure and my app is still not getting a GPS signal. 

The file that was involved is the one used to speed up GPS lock based on a users location, and until the user gets a good file, getting a GPS lock can take longer.  Make sure they are under open sky and give it a few minutes.

Yes, correct. I was aware of that and my user has, on my advice, followed that process without success.
