Unable to connect to simulator. (2025)

I'm very new to Garmin development and trying to create my first application. I have not been able to run the application, and see the error 'Unable to connect to simulator. ' every time that I try.

macOS Sequoia 15.2

VS Code extension 1.1.0

Connect IQ 8.0.0 Beta

I have tried restarting and reinstalling everything as well has using different combinations of Connect IQ and the extension but no luck so far.

I see this occasionally, then closing the simulator window usually fixes it. If not then try also (in the simulator): File > Deleta all apps, and Reset simulator, then close it, and try again.

Unfortunately this has been a long standing issue. It almost always happens if the app crashed in the simulator, or switch watches to emulate, or simply after a few debug runs.
