  • #ConnectIQ might be a bit too generic, as I think I've used that one myself, but maybe something that includes the year (maybe just 17 and not 2017 to save 2 characters) or a number (this would be 1), as whatever is picked should also work for developer conferences in the future. Unless using the same hashtag for all developer summits/conferences would make sense. (like I said, this is all new to me! :) )

Maybe a small tweak to yours Douglas: #CIQDeveloper17 ? (it's missing the Garmin piece though) so maybe #GarminCIQDev17?

(like I said, I'm not good at this kind of stuff! Maybe Garmin has an idea, as they might have though of one already...)
  • #GarminConnectIQDevSummit2017

Haha Douglas...no need to over exaggerate! :D;)

I sent a tweet to Nick Kral at Garmin to see if there was an official one.

Heh, yeah, I was actually trying to really exaggerate with a hashtag closer to 100 characters long but that was the best I could do after only one coffee. :)

    Cheers,
    Douglas

Come on Jim, you missed an obvious required detail and misspelled Olathe.

    #GarminConnectIQDeveloperSummitOlatheKansasUSAApril-18-20-2017

You've still got 79 characters left for the rest of the message. Seems good to me.

Bonus points: pronounce Olathe correctly on the first try with no hints.

Actually I can do it Brian! There was someone from there on a TV Judge show a few months back, so I heard how it's pronounced!

Hmmm, that feels like a hint to me, but I'll let it slide. +42 imaginary internet points for Jim.
  • Now that I've been caffeinated, the answer is clear to me... you always need to include the obvious and repeat the name of the instrument (in this case, a hashtag) in the name. Plus you should also ensure to use as many conjunctions as possible. So, building on what Jim and Brian said:

    #TheOfficialHashtagForTheGarminConnectIQDeveloperSummitHeldInOlatheKansasUSAFromApril-18-20-2017

That brings us to 95 characters, which should suffice on all levels. ;)

    Cheers,
    Douglas

Would make it an even 100, which might be easier to remember! :)

It wasn't really a hint, as I knew it before you posed the question! But just in case, I'll pass on half the 42 to "Judge Judy"! :)
