SDK 2.1.4, Eclipse plugin 2.2.0

I noticed these new upgrades:

-SDK 2.1.4
-Eclipse Plugin 2.2.0

Can we have any release notes for them?

I using Eclipse Luna Service Release 2 (4.4.2), and the software update is failing - "Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found."

Anyone experiencing the same problem?

Regards,
JF
  • 2.1.4 has been out for a while. If you look in the README file that comes with the SDK, there is a change log towards the end (actually every change log). I posted it here a week or so back: https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?362310-Connect-IQ-2-1-4-is-out-changelog-available

No idea about changes in the plugin though.

As far as the error in Luna, I saw that a while back, and by deleting the old plugin and installing the new one (vs updating) it worked. It also doesn't seem to be a problem with Mars or Neon.

Plugin changes are listed in the bottom details pane visible when highlighting the plugin in Available updates page in Eclipse.

    v2.2.0
    * Add a menu option for opening the programmer's guide
    * Fix a bug where the monkeygraph dialog would lock up the main Eclipse window
    v2.1.5
    * Add a menu option for launching the Monkgraphs tool
    * Fix a bug where the launch shortcut dialog would not display if only one device was selected, but multiple SDK versions are available for it.

Thanks. I tend not to open HTML readme files, my fault.

The plugin seems to be broken on Luna, reinstalling didn't work (missing dependency from an eclipse jar, probably only available in later versions). I had to upgrade to Eclipse Neon.

  • Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not. I have opened a ticket to address if we need to make a change to our plugin or update our Programmer's Guide to reflect this. Thank you again!

  • I have problem with Mars as well.
After I updated the plugin I got this error:
Plug-in IQ_IDE was unable to load class com.garmin.connectiq.ide.editors.monkeyc.MonkeyCEditor.

This on Eclipse Mars an Mac OSX Sierra.

Actually I can't use the Plugin.
  • That error would occur if the plugin wasn't installed. I think you should go through the install process again.

  • Ok,it was my fault, just solved upgrading from Java 1.7 to 1.8...thanks for your atterntion
  • I have another problem.

I reinstall Eclipse Neon, Plugin 2.2.0 and the SDK 2.1.4 - but the SDK-Manager didn't find any SDK, neither my old ones nor the new 2.1.4.
    The console writes:
SDK MANAGER: Problem getting available SDKs.
    SDK MANAGER: no content-type

I try to rename the folder several times and set the names in Window>Preferences>Connect IQ as in the SDK manager itself. No luck.

    Any ideas?

I've had this same problem all day, in both Neon and Mars.
  • I also have the same problem.

I installed neon 64 bit first and later tested with neon 32.

    Both have the same issue.
