Simulator not running after upgrading to Sierra (Mac OS 10.12)

After upgrading to Mac OS Sierra (10.12) I'm finding that the Simulator doesn't run. I can see the icon briefly appear before it then disappears. In Eclipse I get the below output:

Attempt 1 to connect to simulator...

Attempt 2 to connect to simulator...

Couldn't connect to simulator.

In the apple console logs I see this message:

Sep 21 21:12:16 macbookpro com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.garmin.connectiq.simulator.1316[2432]): Service exited with abnormal code: 255

Anyone else experiencing this?
  • We haven't ran the simulator on Sierra yet, so I'm not sure if it'll work or not. Let me see about getting one of our Macs upgraded to see what happens.
  • I also upgraded to Sierra and luckily, I can still run my widget in the simulator.

    My environment:
    • Macbook Pro 15" 2011
    • Eclipse Mars
    • Connect IQ 2.1.3

  • We've tested this (Eclipse Neon on OS X 10.12), and are unable to reproduce the issue. See if you can launch the simulator yourself outside of Eclipse. It's located in <connectiq-sdk-directory>/bin/ConnectIQ. Just double-click that, and the sim should open. Perhaps the simulator app is corrupted and won't launch. In that case, I'd recommend re-downloading the SDK.
