How to get promoted on the ConnectIQ "Recommended" section?

Currently I see (at least in my area) there are only two apps, and of course I wish mine was there too.

But didn't found any information on "promotion rules". How to get into the top of a category, how to advance, what features the algorithm prioritizes. It's crowdy place, mainly thanks to unlimited clones. And now I saw even Garmin is competing in the store with other watchfaces developers, which is not encouraging.

Apps who were there for years, are constantly on top making no room for new ones which makes it impossible to innovate and keeps user expectations unchanged.

Sometimes I see low-stats watchfaces higher, more visible than mine, so I whish I knew what I did wrong and how can I improve, but such information seems to be not available.

Please help if you know some sources for that subject.

  • I see you also got spammed by Jim_m_58 with his annoying not telling anything useful replies. He is just like the Connect IQ store: boring old stuff and nothing useful. I have stopped development because in the current state there is nothing to gain. Garmin probably also encourage those spammers to use their monetize platform get some cheap extra bucks. The Connect IQ store is doomed t fail in a few years if they keep going like this: who wants to install a ten year old watch face? No room for innovation!!!!

  • The store has been around for almost 10 years, and it seems new folks don't like to understand how it works.  You'll see the same type of complaints in the Apple and Play stores.

  • Thus because the store is around for almost 10 years means what Jim? That it cannot handle spammers? That it cannot change to attract innovative developers instead of losing them? Because others like Apple have the same issue means that no solution needs to be found? Then you say that all new folks don't understand how it works? At least I know how it should not work!

  • They are not supported by KiezelPay, it is a third party process that handles payment - by the way I am not affiliated with them.

The reason I mention this is so this important topic does not get side tracked, forget about if they are paid or not, but focus on the quality that is being published (or lack of it) and the absolute awful user experience Garmin watch owners have.

But don't waste your time, there are numerous threads about this throughout the forum, and Garmin never responds.

Lets hope (very optimistically) that they are doing something in the background, and won't comment until they have a solution and are ready to implement it :-)

Lets hope that one day there will be no more "Basic Name Number 87" watch faces being published, especially when all could be replicated on 1 watch face with settings
