Is it possible to use Communications.makeJsonRequest in Widget (fenix3)?

Hi, playing around with SDK and my fenix 3 watch.
When I'm trying to retrieve some information from rest service with Communications.makeJsonRequest in my Widget I get two crossed lines on the screen.
Does it mean that this API is not supported? Yet? This page says http://developer.garmin.com/connect-iq/what-you-can-build/ that "Use BLE to communicate with mobile phones/Internet" is available in Widget.

Did you have any luck just building and running the Weather example in the emulator? Last I checked, that code worked most of the time.

The same, after I click on FIT Data -> simulate data I get to this screen https://www.dropbox.com/s/ctfd5gn1v3q11ep/2015-02-09_22-04-09_-_Connect_IQ_-_WeathersourceWeatherView.mc_-_Eclipse_-_Usersoutcoldmandev.png?dl=0 and it seems like that onReceive is never getting called.

Just verified that I have the same result on Windows, before I used OS X :(

There was a bug with the 1.00 SDK release and the Communcations code in the simulator. This is fixed for the next public release. Off the top of my head I'm not sure of the status of Communcations on the Fenix. We'll have to investigate and get back to you.

Communications is not enabled in the Fenix 3 SW that you have but it will be enabled in the next release.

Monthly releases seem to be the target, but I can guess we can expect a new release when its ready

I doubt you'll get a satisfying answer to this question. As with most software, I think it is safe to assume it will be ready when it's ready. That said, it appears that they are trying to do monthly releases...

For the Fenix 3 2.40 should be available today, and it has a working Communications module. The next SDK release is coming, but I'm not able to give a date yet.
