Alarm when Sensor is disconnect

Hello!

I would like to program a data field, which just give Alarm if a sensor is disconnected.

I would like to know, if my riding partner is to far behind me: So if his sensor, which I paired, is disconnected, he is to far away.

Is this with a simple data field possible? How can I set a sensor to observe and check if connected or maybe signal strength?

You can use: https://developer.garmin.com/connect-iq/api-docs/Toybox/WatchUi/DataFieldAlert.html

THe user needs to enable the alert for the CIQ data field in the menu for this to work.

Thank you! May you have an idea which sensor I can use for?

When I´m adding a sensor, the edge 1040 use this for recording. But this sensor is at my friend.

Is there an option to not recording a connected sensor? Or is there another connect which I can check?

It connects to your friend's ANT HR strap and alerts when their HR or HR zone is too low/high

You have:

1. Only connect to ANT ID

2. Set name for currently connected ANT

3. And 3 Users

Should I leave 1 and 2 blank? Or is this the setting for my friends ANT HRM?

User 1 is myself and User 2 is my friend?

ANT ID is the ID that I see in sensors on the edge. For example: 47073

if you know the ANT ID of the friend's HRM then you can add them as a user. If you also use sometimes a HRM strap then you can keep User #1 for you (enter your strap's ANT ID), with the default Zones: "u" it'll automatically use your zones.

For your friend you can set up User #2:

User #2.ANT ID: ...
User #2.Name: Joe
And if you're interested to see their HR zones as well (besides their current HR) then you can also set their HR zones:
User #2.Zones: "z:100,110,120,130,140,150"
And to get let's say a high HR alert you could set: User #2.High HR Alert: 145 or if you want it to be zone based then: User #2.High HR Alert: 4

In the watch you need to enable the alert:
1. you add the ANT+ HRM datafield to let's say Run
2. in Run settings > Alerts > Add new > Connect IQ > ANT+ HRM > on

Thank you. But which HRM use Garmin then for the activity? He need to use my. I`m always riding with a HRM my bike.

Or did I don´t need to add my friends HRM at the edge as a sensor? Did your data field directly connect to the ANT device?

I could add that as a feature to my ANT field... It works with everything EXCEPT HeartRate, since there isn't an ANT+ Profile yet for HR, which is a glaring gap in coverage.

Yes, you shouldn't add the HRM to the Garmin device as a sensor! My datafields connects to it directly (and it can only do that if it's not connected to the Garmin device)
