How do create a black background in connect IQ

Newbie here - just got a forerunner 165 and I want to create my own basic watch face. Using connectiq face it, how can I just create a black background? It looks like none of the preset backgrounds are black but rather ugly designs. Other options are using a photo.

Why not download a black image and use it as your photo background?

With FaceIt, you can use one of your own photos or just use the camera and grab a new picture,

What I'd try is taking a picture of something that's the background color you want. I just tried covering the lens and taking a picture (it's all black), added it in faceIt, selected a layout and installed it on my watch
