Split a float - need a code snippet

Hi,

I need the elapsed distance split in km and meters. E. g. 13.345 km shall be split in 13 and 345. Can you provide a short and effective code snippet which does this?

Here's a simple way:

var val=13.345;
    var val2=(val*1000).toNumber();
    var km=val2/1000;
    var m=val2%1000;
    Sys.println("km="+km+" m="+m);

output is: km=13 m=345

or this:

var km=val.toNumber();
    var m= ((val-km)*1000).toNumber();

(same output)
