I can't consistently reproduce this, but I did get the peak memory boxes to work, but only twice. It involves restarting the debugger through the VS code Run menu after it's already running. I was expecting (yeah, I know) the stack trace to be more informative.
The next question obviously is it possible to make this useful, and if so, how?
SDK 7.4 fixed the gray button issue, but the peak memory stack trace dialog is still the same, showing basically nothing. Is there something with 7.4 we need to do to get it to work, or is this just a work in progress and we need to wait for another SDK to get stack data in the dialog?
