Watch Face has disappeared and not listed in face list. IQ error with Exclamation Mark. How can I identify it?

I had a watch face that I loved.  I have been using it on a Tactix Delta for years.  Recently (after that horrible Garmin Connect app update - which I rolled back) my main watch face now shows IQ with an exclamation mark.  It is not showing up in the app but it is listed on the watch.  If I try to change to the face, it shows the face view for a split second then changes to the IQ error.  Is there any way to identify this face?  Is there a way to get the face to show up on Connect IQ?

On a side note, I am aware that the error is likely because the developer hasn't maintained the face.  That being said, since I can't tell who the developer is, it is hard to verify that.  It is super annoying that Garmin made a change that would break my configuration without warning though.

  • To identify: connect the watch to a computer with the USB cable and look into Garmin/APPS/LOGS/CIQ_LOG.* (BAK and or TXT). If it crashes, then there should be a section about the crash at the end of one of these files, where IMHO you'll see both thte Appname and the Store-ID (which you can use to get to the app in the garmin store, and send the crashlog to the developer of the watchface via Contact Developer link

  • Thank you.  That is much farther than the Garmin support person was able to get me.  I don't know the format of the logs but it shows the following:

    ---
    Error: Invalid Value
    Details: 'Failed invoking <symbol>'
    Time: 2024-05-28T16:34:26Z
    Part-Number: 006-B3291-00
    Firmware-Version: '27.00'
    Language-Code: eng
    ConnectIQ-Version: 3.2.1
    Store-Id: a58303e8-b0a8-4387-ba1c-519a648d3b70
    Store-Version: 154
    Filename: A3CCF222
    Appname: GearMin
    Stack:
    - pc: 0x10000704
    - pc: 0x1000013e
    - pc: 0x10003f96

Does this look like it would be the log entry from the watch face?

  • That was enough information for me to find the app/developer.  Thank you very much!
