Server Connection Error with Connect IQ app

I just bought a Venu 3 and an enjoying it but I am having an issue with the Connect IQ app.  The first couple of days it was fine, but now it keeps giving me a server connection error saying that it is having a problem taking to the Garmin Connect server.  I've rebooted the phone and the watch, and turned off any VPN.  The Garmin Connect app is working fine and says that my watch is connected.  I would ove to explore some new watch faces but can't get the Connect IQ app to work 

Thoughts?
