Save app data on Garmin memory

Hello, how can I save data from my app on the Garmin's memory? I have seen that Application.Storage is a possibility, maybe logging to FIT files or a debug txt file? How much storage is available to be used (would ideally like to use something in the MB range)? Is there an example I could reference that I can use to integrate this to my app? Thank you very much in advance for the help! Ideally I would like to retrieve the data when I connect the Garmin to my computer.

You can't write to a file, and the logs are truncated after about 4k or something very short like that. Fit can be good, especially if you will want to export it. If it's only needed locally and you'll only need to read it later from the same app, then storage is OK. I don't remember the total max size, but if you can cut the data to chunks then probably it'll work.

probably you can find one here: https://github.com/bombsimon/awesome-garmin I thought there might be also in the SDK examples, but I couldn't find one so maybe there isn't.

thank you very much! However, when I try to enable FIT contributor on my xml file, it is grayed out. Would you know what I need to change to be able to enable that?

Just a guess, but to you have the createField and setData calls in your code?

Do you have the permission turned on?

You need to change the app type to Datafield or Watch App
