Attention.ToneProfile is silent in simulator on Mac/OSX (works on watch)

Hi All,

Does anyone have any ideas why Attention.ToneProfile doesn't make sound when running on the simulator on a Mac / OSX ?

Settings Tones and Vibrate are ticked:

The simulator screen 'shakes' for vibrations but I don't hear anything for tones...

Both tones and vibration work fine when running the app on the watch (955 Solar)

Which SDK?

Try with 6.4.2

4.2.4 is pretty old. About 5 production SDKs have been released since that one

still silent on 6.4.2 - is this a Mac / OSX thing, I wonder ?

I've not seen anyone posting about this. Do sounds work with other apps on your Mac?

yes, no issues with any other apps

I'm not having any issues on SDK 6.4.2 on my Mac. What OS are you using?

OS12 Monterey - I’ll try simulating for a different device, maybe it’s the 955 simulator that has an issue with sounds / tones

Tried with different simulator devices, and even the Attention sample code - still can't hear anything in the simulator.

Is there some setting to choose audio output devices ?

It works for me with fr955, sdk 6.4.2, Mac OS Sonoma 14.4. I don't remember doing anything special other then enabling tone in the setting as you did. But I remember that I had similar problems in the past as you have. Try to see in the system sound settings, maybe you'll see something strange
