App marked as Beta was approved and published

5 minutes ago I received an email that my app submission to the Connect IQ store has been approved, even though the app has been marked as beta for several weeks.
I removed the app immediately to prevent people from downloading an unfinished app.

I updated the app today and a few days ago - I do not see an option to remove a beta status from an app, have I missed something?
Could be a new bug. Keep an eye on your emails, it could be that a beta app is released inadvertently.

  • Hi. About the second part, as far as I know, there's no option to remove an app from beta status, you have to submit another one. About the first part, no idea.

  • this happened to me just recently   May 2025.  I actually then got a 5 star review on it lol.   Only way i could see to fix it was to delete it altogether and create a new beta app with a new app id.

edit to add:  my app had  been a beta for years as i use it for my own testing.  then randomly (or not if it was a sloppy workflow by garmin) it got approved and listed in the store.  the description had "beta beta beta" all over it.   if it was a human that approved it, then they really didn't pay attention to what they were approving

  • once you create a new app and check the "beta app" checkbox, the human should not be able to approve it, and he should not even see it in the list that he needs to approve
